Weird thing about the DMV is every examiner is different and every route is different. Already know how to drive (got my permit). I think they only have 5 route options, so your best bet is probably to just grab a couple of lessons with someone who knows what those routes are and you can practice them ahead of time. Are you moving from out of state/country and getting a US license, or just learning to drive? Instructor was really pleasant - I'd heard they could be a bit dry and serious, but we just had a casual chat most of the way around. I'm from a different country though where the test is much longer (and frankly harder) - Changed lanes a few times, turned a couple of lefts and a couple of rights and parallel parked. Thank you, good luck on your test, and feel free to post questions to other teens in our forum below.I did it there a few weeks back - No issues at all. We anticipate that there are other test routes in the area and would ask our contributors to submit directions, maps or dashcam videos through the Contact Us section of our website. We suggest you run these routes a few times and become familiar with the streets and traffic patterns. Many of the white lines on the roads (lane dividers, limit lines, etc.) in this area are faded and at times it is difficult to determine exactly where the lanes are. Watch for the two school zones marked on the map, and pay attention to speed limits as they change both in school zones as well as on the other roads.

This route is similar to Route #1 (reference notes above). Like all of the Las Vegas DMVs, the parking lots are congested with pedestrians and cars, drive cautiously. We had two different return routes submitted to us – you will see towards the end of the Practice Route #1 dashcam video we show an optional short return back to the DMV by turning on W. There was construction when our route was videoed so they may have modified the course during that time. This is an easy route, wide streets, lots of long straight stretches (watch your speed), and well marked intersections. This is one of the 4 full service DMVs in the Las Vegas area.
